Professor Jean-Marc Chovelon
Prof. Jean-Marc Chovelon is a Full Professor of Environmental & Analytical Chemistry at University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1. He is the director of the Water Treatment Group of Institut de recherches sur la catalyse et l’environnement de Lyon, IRCELYON. Prof. Chovelon is an expert of Environmental Photochemistry as well as Photocatalysis for water decontamination and air purification. His main research activities since 1999 includes(1) Photodegradation and photocatalytic degradations of organic pollutants in air and water and, (2) Development of analytical techniques for environmental applications. Along with his students and colleagues, Prof. Chovelon has published over 180 peer-reviewed scientific papers including Environmental Science & Technology, Water Research, and Applied Catalysis B: Environmental with H factor of 45 (scopus source). He has supervised more than 30 Ph D students, 39 masters or post-docs. Prof. Chovelon is also an active researcher who engaged in wide regional and international co-operations. He was the AdHoc expert for EFSA (European Food Safety Authorithy) in the group Pesticide (2007-2013); Scientific expertfor the French Ministry of the Research and of the education in the group « China: environmental emergency and ecotechnology”(2010-2011); Expert of the University National Committee for the chemistry (section 32) (2011-2015);Expert (2010-2014) and Head (2014-2016) for the chemistry of the consortium for the development of graduate diploma in French in the Pacific-Asia region for the AUF (Universitary Agency of the Francophony).
